In September 2024, following a successful brainstorming session, Herron Island took proactive steps to address recent management challenges. Four dynamic work groups have been formed to tackle key areas of improvement, demonstrating the community's resilience and commitment to positive change. 

These groups will focus on enhancing island operations, strengthening community engagement, improving infrastructure, and developing sustainable practices. This collaborative effort showcases the island's ability to come together and create innovative solutions, ensuring a brighter future for all Herron Island residents.

The four Work Groups are:

• HMC Operations
• Human Capital
• HMC Ferry Operations
• Communications

HMC Members are encouraged to attend Monthly Update meetings to hear progress, ask questions, and provide input. Meetings are held the Monday prior to the Board Meeting (first Monday of Month) from 6-7pm. See HMCHI.org Calendar for details and zoom link.
